How do you unlock the VX Compact?
The VX Compact is a bullpup full-auto assault rifle added to Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 in the Season 4 update (June 11, 2026). Its in-game description reads "Full-auto assault rifle. Best-in-class rate of fire and excellent handling, offset by lower range and ammo capacity," and coverage notes its manageable recoil and minimal muzzle flash paired with a small 25-round base magazine. It appears to be an original Call of Duty design rather than a real-world firearm, with styling reminiscent of the Razorback SMG from Black Ops 3.

Leveling the VX Compact
A full-auto assault rifle built around the fastest fire rate in its class and strong handling, suited to aggressive close-to-mid-range play at the cost of range and a small magazine.
Weapon XP comes from kills and objective play with the VX Compact equipped, up to Level 42. Leveling it unlocks its attachments and feeds every camo challenge below.
