M8A1 weapon overview
The M8A1 is a marksman rifle in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, returning from Black Ops II where it was previously an assault rifle. It fires in four-round bursts at a very high rate of fire within each burst, balanced by a cooldown between bursts. It is modeled on the real-world Heckler & Koch XM8.

Leveling the M8A1
A four-round burst marksman rifle that can down enemies in a single burst at range, with a brief cooldown between bursts.
Weapon XP comes from kills and objective play with the M8A1 equipped, up to Level 50. Leveling it unlocks its attachments and feeds every camo challenge below.
Real-world basis: Heckler & Koch XM8.
