Activision has not published the full core camo list, base-camo families, mastery names, challenge requirements or total camo count. A Zombies mode and broad cross-game camo carry-forward are also unannounced. This guide will not fill those gaps with leaks or assumptions.

Moonlit Pearl
How to unlock it: place a qualifying digital pre-order or pre-purchase for Modern Warfare 4. Activision lists Moonlit Pearl as a Universal Weapon Camo that becomes usable on any MW4 weapon at launch. The same qualifying order also opens the Gilded Ruin challenge.
Gilded Ruin
How to unlock it: first place a qualifying digital MW4 pre-order, then earn 5,000 Skulls through the challenge that began July 23 at 12 PM PT. Multiplayer awards 10 Skulls per elimination, Endgame 5, Zombies 1 and Warzone 30. The first 100,000 qualifying completions were allocated a numbered serialized version plus the standard version; after that allocation, qualifying completions receive the standard version. Activision confirms the camo for every MW4 weapon at launch and specifically describes the serialization number as appearing on ranged weapons.
What is the MW4 mastery camo?
No MW4 mastery camo has been officially named. The total number of base camos, the weapon-by-weapon challenges and the mastery ladder are still unannounced. For comparison only, the Black Ops 7 camo directory shows how a released Call of Duty guide is organized; it is not evidence that MW4 will use the same tiers.
