How do you unlock Gold?
Gold camo unlocks individually at Weapon Level 31 on every camo-eligible assault rifle, SMG, LMG, sniper rifle and shotgun in original MW3 (2011) multiplayer. It is not a class-mastery or headshot reward.

A reflective metallic gold treatment applied across the weapon's principal surfaces, with darker hardware left visible for contrast.
How do you make progress toward Gold?
Commit to one primary after Autumn and keep using the setup that earns dependable weapon XP; no separate Gold challenge begins at Level 30.
Gold belongs only to the weapon that reaches Level 31. Normal Prestige resets weapon XP, levels, attachments, proficiencies and Gold; Unlock Gear bypasses player-rank access but does not preserve the weapon track.
