How do you unlock Classic?
Classic is the first weapon-level camo on every eligible MW3 (2011) primary. Reach Weapon Level 3 on that specific assault rifle, SMG, LMG, sniper rifle or shotgun; the unlock does not transfer to another weapon.

How do you make progress toward Classic?
Stay with one primary through its first few matches instead of rotating guns before Weapon Level 3.
Classic is tracked per weapon. Normal Prestige resets weapon XP, attachments, proficiencies and weapon-level camos unless the player avoids entering Prestige.
