How MW3 (2011) camos unlock

Every camo-eligible weapon earns Classic (Weapon Level 3), Snow (Weapon Level 5–6 by class), Multicam (Weapon Level 6–8 by class), Digital Urban (Weapon Level 8–11 by class), Hex (Weapon Level 10–16 by class), Choco (Weapon Level 13–20 by class), Snake (Weapon Level 18–23 by class), Blue (Weapon Level 21–25 by class), Red (Weapon Level 26–27 by class), Autumn (Weapon Level 29–30 by class), Gold (Weapon Level 31) in order as that weapon levels up. Weapon levels are tracked per weapon, so each camo must be unlocked separately on each gun. Checked and current — July 2026.

Eligible primary weapons reach Weapon Level 31, where Gold unlocks individually. Secondaries and the Riot Shield reach Weapon Level 10. Weapon level and Weapon Proficiency are separate terms.

Legacy special camos

Winter and Marine are documented legacy entitlement or platform exceptions. They are not ordinary weapon-level tiers and should not be presented as newly earnable through normal progression.

Normal Prestige returns player rank to Level 1 and resets rank-gated gear, weapon XP, weapon levels, attachments, proficiencies and weapon-level camos, including Gold. Unlock Gear permanently bypasses one item's player-rank requirement in later Prestiges but does not preserve that weapon's progression. Reset All Stats is a separate Prestige Shop action.

The original game released on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC and Wii, with an OS X port later. Xbox 360 copies are backward-compatible on newer Xbox consoles; there is no native PS4 or PS5 remaster, and multiplayer is not cross-platform. Platform services, matchmaking conditions and legacy entitlement behavior can vary, so the guide focuses on original final-patch mechanics rather than current activity claims.
