How weapon progression works in MW4
Each Modern Warfare 4 weapon levels up as you use it. Weapon levels unlock its attachments and Military camos and open its Special camo challenges. Fully progressing a weapon earns its Apex Attachment, which changes how the gun works. Weapon levels and camo progress are shared between Multiplayer and DMZ, and Warzone joins in Season 1.

Gunsmith, Gunny and Apex Attachments
Gunsmith returns inside a redesigned Create-a-Class. Standard attachments are shared across weapons in the same class, and Gunny can build close-, mid- or long-range setups for you. Apex Attachments are bigger changes: the Kastov Arc disruption barrel, the ISO Trace tracking optic, the Rezi Enforcer pump-action conversion and the Oris Razor throwing-knife module.
In DMZ a weapon carries up to five standard attachments plus one Apex Attachment, and eight-attachment weapons can be found during a deployment. See the Multiplayer deep dive and the DMZ deep dive.

How many weapons are in Modern Warfare 4?
Modern Warfare 4 launches with 33 weapons across 9 classes: assault rifles, SMGs, shotguns, LMGs, marksman rifles, sniper rifles, pistols, launchers and melee. 22 of them were playable in the Beta.
What are Apex Attachments in MW4?
An Apex Attachment is earned by fully progressing its weapon and substantially changes how that weapon works. Examples include the Kastov Arc disruption barrel, the ISO Trace tracking system, the Rezi Enforcer pump-action conversion and the Oris Razor throwing-knife module.
Is MW4 weapon progression shared between Multiplayer and DMZ?
Yes. Weapon levels and camo progress are shared across Multiplayer and DMZ, and Warzone joins the camo track in Season 1. DMZ keeps its own loadout and inventory rules.
What is the max weapon level in MW4?
It depends on the gun. Pre-release menus show maximum levels from 38 to 75; each weapon page lists its own.
Does MW4 Beta weapon progress carry over to launch?
No. Activision says player level, weapon unlocks and other Beta progression reset after the Beta. Eligible cosmetic Beta rewards stay on your Activision account and unlock at launch.
Can you level every MW4 weapon for me?
