How do you unlock the G11?

The G11 is the classified assault rifle: buy every other assault rifle first, then purchase it for 2,000 CoD Points; Level 44 is the earliest that condition can be met. It fires three-round bursts from a 48-round magazine and is limited to Low Power Scope or Variable Zoom instead of the normal rifle attachment menu. It accepts all 14 standard store camos plus Gold from 14th Prestige.

How does the G11 play in Black Ops 1?

Also written asHK G11
RoleClassified high-capacity burst rifle
Real-world basisHeckler & Koch G11 caseless-ammunition prototype
StrengthsSixteen full bursts per standard magazine; Fast, accurate burst role with two purpose-built scope choices
TradeoffsNo suppressor, magazine upgrade or underbarrel attachment; The long magazine does not rescue poorly placed bursts at close range
Attachments and setupOnly Low Power Scope and Variable Zoom are available; Run the base sight when magnification would narrow awareness on a compact map
Challenge noteBO1 weapon challenges are separate from camouflage. Camos are bought per eligible primary with earned CoD Points rather than unlocked through a weapon challenge.
Camo tipUse the 48 rounds to hold a lane through several contacts, but keep each burst deliberate. Reload before rotating into close quarters if the magazine is already low.
Compared withThe M16 carries 30 rounds and offers far more attachments; the G11 trades that flexibility for a larger magazine and its distinct burst cadence.

G11 — common questions

What level does the G11 unlock at in Black Ops 1?

The G11 is a classified weapon in Call of Duty: Black Ops — buy every other weapon in its class first, making Level 44 the earliest possible rank. It then costs 2,000 CoD Points. The level cap is 50, and prestige is up to 15.

How do camos work on the G11?

Camos here are bought, not earned: every standard camo costs 250 CoD Points per weapon once camo purchases unlock at level 22, with no challenges or headshots attached. Gold is the exception — it unlocks for purchase at 14th Prestige and costs 50,000 CoD Points per weapon. These are earned multiplayer CoD Points from BO1's economy, not the premium COD Points used in newer games. Each camo is bought per weapon, so buying one for the G11 only unlocks it there.
