Caustic is one of the twelve standard per-weapon camouflage challenges in Call of Duty: Ghosts multiplayer. Its exact objective depends on weapon class: Assault rifles: Get 3 kills in one life 25 times · SMGs: Get 3 kills in one life 25 times · LMGs: Get 3 kills in one life 25 times · Marksman rifles: Get 3 kills in one life 25 times · Sniper rifles: Get 3 kills in one life 25 times · Shotguns: Get 3 kills in one life 25 times · Riot Shield: 100 pistol kills after swapping from the shield. Complete all twelve standard challenges on an eligible weapon to unlock Gold for that weapon.

How do you make progress toward Caustic?

Treat each three-kill life as a small streak: reload, reposition and protect the third fight. The shield path instead requires pistol kills after switching away from the shield.

Caustic counts 25 separate three-kill lives for firearms. Extra kills in the same life do not replace the need to repeat that sequence.
