Its exact objective depends on weapon class: Assault rifles: 35 assists · SMGs: 35 assists · LMGs: 35 assists · Marksman rifles: 35 assists · Sniper rifles: 60 one-shot kills · Shotguns: 35 assists · Riot Shield: 50 assists. Complete all twelve standard challenges on an eligible weapon to unlock Gold for that weapon.

How do you make progress toward Autumn?

For the assist path, work near teammates and damage targets they can finish. Snipers are the exception and need 60 one-shot kills instead.

Autumn is not one universal assist challenge: sniper rifles use one-shot kills, and the Riot Shield has a larger assist requirement.
