How do you unlock the Peacekeeper?

The Peacekeeper comes with the Revolution DLC in Call of Duty: Black Ops II. It is the fully automatic weapon added with Revolution and the first post-launch gun in the Call of Duty series. Its hybrid role trades some close-range urgency for steadier work across short and medium lanes. Its camo track finishes at Skulls (10 Bloodthirsty medals with the weapon). Complete every camo challenge on it and Gold unlocks. Earn Gold on the whole class for Diamond.

Reviewed July 27, 2026. Game identity, Pick 10, weapon leveling and the Peacekeeper's post-launch status were checked against Activision material. Current PlayStation availability and the 25-pack bundle were checked against PlayStation Store listings. Class and weapon-specific camouflage requirements were cross-checked against recorded in-game challenge wording. Base multiplayer capacities and weapon identifications were checked against a dedicated BO2 stat reference and IMFDB, with fictional or uncertain designs labeled as such. Crossbow mechanics and legacy camo access were separately checked against historical references and the current Steam Digital Deluxe listing. Setup advice and weapon comparisons are editorial and avoid unsupported damage or time-to-kill claims.

How does the Peacekeeper play in Black Ops 2?

Also written asPeacekeeper SMG, Revolution Peacekeeper
RoleDLC SMG with assault-rifle reach
Real-world basisFictional compact carbine/SMG with design cues from the AAC Honey Badger
StrengthsIts range-oriented SMG profile handles mixed indoor and outdoor routes; Revolution owners receive it without spending a normal rank Unlock Token
TradeoffsDedicated close-range SMGs apply faster pressure inside a room; It requires the Revolution content entitlement and is not part of the 39-weapon base roster
Attachments and setup notesLong Barrel reinforces the hybrid role; Stock supports aimed movement on medium lanes; Quickdraw Handle helps when shifting from a sprinting SMG route into a rifle-like angle
Challenge noteFinish 100 headshots, then 30 Revenge medals, 150 kills with no attachments, 150 kills with no perks, 20 Double Kill medals and 10 Bloodthirsty medals. Completing all 14 challenges earns Gold on this SMG.
Progression tipIts own Gold path uses the normal SMG challenges. The Peacekeeper is not required to award base-SMG Diamond, but it must be Gold before Diamond can be equipped on it.
Camo tipUse SMG movement to reach a favorable medium angle, then fight with shorter rifle-like bursts.
Compared withThe Vector K10 is the purer close-range control SMG; the Peacekeeper gives up some close pressure for greater route flexibility.

Peacekeeper — common questions

What level does the Peacekeeper unlock at in Black Ops 2?

The Peacekeeper comes with the Revolution DLC in Call of Duty: Black Ops II — no level requirement or Unlock Token. Included with Revolution and available at Create-a-Class Level 4 without a normal Unlock Token. It is not required to award Diamond on the six base SMGs, but Peacekeeper must be Gold before Diamond can be equipped on it. The level cap is 55, and prestige is up to 10, followed by Prestige Master at Level 55.

How do you unlock camos on the Peacekeeper?

Camo progress is per-weapon. Black Ops II camo progress is tracked separately on every weapon. The first nine finishes run from DEVGRU through Kryptek: Typhon, followed by Carbon Fiber, Cherry Blossom, Art of War, Ronin and Skulls before per-weapon Gold and class-based Diamond. Assault rifles, SMGs, LMGs and pistols begin with headshots. Snipers use One Shot, One Kill medals; shotguns use one-hit kills; launchers and Specials have weapon-specific ladders. Every camo page lists the exceptions. On the Peacekeeper the final tier is Skulls — 10 Bloodthirsty medals with the weapon. After that, Gold needs every camo challenge on the weapon done, and Diamond needs Gold on the full class.
