Helldivers 2 Scope of Authority: Release & Unlock Guide

Helldivers 2’s Scope of Authority Premium Warbond launches on October 20, 2026. The important unlock distinction is simple: Super Credits—or an eligible Warbond Token—provide access; Medals unlock its contents.

What to know before October 20

  • Check Warbond access, including any eligible Token, and Medal progression separately.
  • Separate your preferred reward from an assumed full-unlock budget.
  • Check the live page requirements before deciding what to unlock first.
  • Use the checklist below to choose the resource and service that actually match your goal.

When does Scope of Authority release?

The October 13 reveal requires the base game and progression; it provides no exact release hour. This guide covers prelaunch preparation.

Do you need Super Credits or Medals?

You need to distinguish the two stages. Arrowhead’s currency FAQ, updated September 7, explains that Super Credits purchase Warbonds, while War Medals unlock content inside them. Having Medals does not by itself give you access to a Premium Warbond.

Check the resource that matches your next step
Your goal What to check What this does not mean
Access Scope of Authority Its Super Credit requirement, or an eligible Warbond Token claim, in the live menu after release. Medals do not purchase access.
Unlock a particular reward Its Medal cost and any preceding progression requirements once the pages are visible. Access does not automatically unlock every item.
Plan your next co-op session The reward you want and the Medals you still need for it. A service listing is not a confirmed total cost for the new Warbond.

Check whether you already have an access option before spending. Arrowhead’s Warbond Token FAQ, updated October 9, says an eligible Token can claim a Premium Warbond instead of spending Super Credits. It describes a “Claim Premium Warbond” button when a Token is available, rather than “Buy Premium Warbond.” This is the general system rule; we have not inspected Scope of Authority’s unreleased menu.

Arrowhead’s general Warbond FAQ lists Premium Warbonds at 1,000 Super Credits. Treat that as tier guidance, not a screenshot-confirmed Scope of Authority price. Do not substitute another Warbond’s item costs for this one. The general FAQ explains that Medal spending within a Warbond counts cumulatively toward opening its next page. Spending on a different Warbond does not advance this one. Check both the target item price and any preceding page threshold; they are different numbers.

Which weapons and equipment are confirmed?

Confirmed equipment:

  • R-40 Sightliner: bolt-action primary sniper rifle with armor-piercing rounds.
  • P-44 Mist: one-handed machine pistol.
  • AMW-20 Apex: backpack-fed anti-materiel rifle with assisted reload.
  • LAS-44 Nova: charged, non-explosive thermal projectile weapon.
  • G-11 Caltrops: scattered proximity submunitions that slow and stun enemies.

For your first unlock, identify the gap in your own loadout. Are you interested in a precision primary, a secondary for close encounters or a support weapon to coordinate with a teammate? That gives you a practical shortlist to compare with the live costs. It does not establish which weapon will perform best after launch.

How does Stationary Shroud work?

SS-33 Mimetic Marshal is light armor; SS-15 Focal Point is medium armor. Both carry Stationary Shroud, described as reducing weapon sway and enemy detection range while crouched or prone.

If your plan depends on concealment, check the stance condition before building around it. Reduced detection range is not a promise of invisibility, and this guide does not claim the new passive has been tested in live matches.

What should you prepare before the Warbond arrives?

  1. Review your resources separately. Record your Super Credits and Medals as two balances with different jobs, and check whether an eligible Warbond Token is available.
  2. Choose one target reward. Keep a backup choice until its cost and page requirements are visible.
  3. Use current activities to earn Medals. PlayStation’s official beginner’s guide lists missions, Personal Orders and Major Orders as sources.
  4. Check the live pages after release. Confirm access, the exact target and preceding spend before making a complete-unlock plan.

There is no need to treat this as an expiring battle-pass race: the same official guide says that an unlocked Warbond’s pages do not expire, and you can work on multiple active Warbonds. That makes a targeted plan more useful than assuming you must buy and finish everything immediately.

Want help earning the Medals for your chosen rewards?

Boss’s current 2,000 Medals Boost is a fixed total earned across multiple co-op sessions while you play on your own account; no account login is required. The service page instructs you to spend Medals between missions. It is not a custom small-reward package: compare that scope with your progression goals and coordinate scheduling before ordering.

This is help earning Medals. It does not purchase Scope of Authority access or provide Super Credits, and this article does not promise all future rewards, a launch-day slot or a completion time. For other progression goals, see the Helldivers 2 services overview.

Quick answers

How much will Scope of Authority cost?

Arrowhead lists the Premium tier at 1,000 Super Credits in its general FAQ. The October 13 Scope announcement does not separately state a price; confirm the live menu on release. An eligible Warbond Token is an alternative access route under the general Token rules.

Can you unlock the Warbond with Medals?

Medals unlock content within Warbonds. Premium Warbond access uses Super Credits or an eligible Warbond Token; those are separate steps.

Is Scope of Authority worth buying?

Compare the announced equipment with your preferred role, then check costs and post-release performance evidence. We have not tested these unreleased items, so a definitive value or meta verdict would be premature.
