Infinite Warfare Axe

How do you unlock the Axe?
The Axe was added after launch; its original access was Quartermaster or Supply Drop access; the Headsman variant later became craftable, with no ordinary base-weapon challenge or Season Pass grant asserted in Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. It is a chopping melee weapon with throwable Epic variant: The base weapon is a contact melee tool while the Epic Headsman adds a recoverable throw. Use that stable behavior rather than relying on patch-sensitive damage claims. Its camo track finishes at Neon Tiger (Get 3 kills without dying 20 times). Complete every camo challenge on it and Gold unlocks. Its Gold does not count toward the original Diamond requirement; both this weapon's Gold and the launch-weapon class requirement must be complete before Diamond can be equipped on it. This post-launch weapon does not increase the original Black Sky requirement; its own camo challenges and the account-wide base-game mastery route must both be complete to equip Black Sky.
Reviewed July 30, 2026. Platform, Quartermaster, Salvage and Mission Team systems were checked against Activision material. Weapon ranks, mechanics and the mastery sequence were reconciled against dedicated historical references. Camo rarity and catalog membership were checked against the complete camouflage record; editorial setup advice avoids patch-sensitive numeric claims.

How do you unlock the Axe in Infinite Warfare?
The Axe was added post-launch to Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare through a post-launch weapon. Platform availability is listed on this page. The level cap is 55, and prestige is 10 standard Prestige levels, followed by Master Prestige progression. Each standard Prestige grants a Permanent Unlock Token; odd-numbered entries also supply Classic Weapon Unlock Tokens. Historical post-launch access; current availability depends on the platform service, account entitlements and Quartermaster inventory.
How do you unlock camos on the Axe?
Camo progress is per-weapon. Desert, Mars, Arctic Tech and Wilderness track initial kills or streak destruction. Mojave through Zebra use class-specific objectives, followed by Autumn, Whiteout, Bengal, Murdered Out and Neon Tiger. Gold is per weapon and Diamond normally covers one category; Combat Knife Diamond instead requires all original non-Classic secondaries, and Classic Diamond requires all six original Classic weapons. Solar covers the original non-Classic categories and Black Sky completes the original Classic step. Quartermaster, Mission Team, Zombies, event and promotional camos are not prerequisites for Gold, Diamond, Solar or Black Sky. On the Axe the final tier is Neon Tiger — Get 3 kills without dying 20 times. After that, Gold needs every camo challenge on the weapon done. This post-launch weapon does not count toward the original Diamond total, but its own Gold and the launch-weapon class requirement must both be complete before Diamond can be equipped on it. It does not increase the original Black Sky requirement; this weapon's camo challenges and the account-wide route must both be complete to equip it.
