How do you make progress toward Night Strike?

Unlock all nine Zombies Military camos on the Merrick 556. Track this Special challenge in Gunsmith and check that your Merrick 556 meets the listed condition before each match.

Since Season 2, you can equip an already-unlocked Special camo on another weapon after earning any five Military camos on that weapon, including a combination across modes. That equip rule does not remove the nine-Military prerequisite for earning this Special camo.
