Reviewed July 27, 2026. Game identity, Pick 10, weapon leveling and the Peacekeeper's post-launch status were checked against Activision material. Current PlayStation availability and the 25-pack bundle were checked against PlayStation Store listings. Class and weapon-specific camouflage requirements were cross-checked against recorded in-game challenge wording. Base multiplayer capacities and weapon identifications were checked against a dedicated BO2 stat reference and IMFDB, with fictional or uncertain designs labeled as such. Crossbow mechanics and legacy camo access were separately checked against historical references and the current Steam Digital Deluxe listing. Setup advice and weapon comparisons are editorial and avoid unsupported damage or time-to-kill claims.

How does the Type 25 play in Black Ops 2?

Also written asType 25 rifle
RoleFast-firing mobile assault rifle
Real-world basisFuturized QBZ-95-1 bullpup rifle with an original QBZ-95-style trigger guard
StrengthsRapid follow-up fire is useful when clearing a contested objective; Its mobile rifle role bridges the gap between an AR and an SMG
TradeoffsThe quick firing cycle spends ammunition rapidly; Distant headshots require controlled bursts rather than a held trigger
Attachments and setup notesFore Grip can simplify sustained control; Fast Mag reduces downtime between aggressive engagements; Use a clean optic only if it improves target pickup, because every attachment consumes Pick 10 space
Challenge noteFinish 100 headshots, then 10 Longshot medals, 150 kills with no attachments, 150 kills with no perks, 20 Double Kill medals and 10 Bloodthirsty medals. Completing all 14 challenges earns Gold on this rifle.
Progression tipTake the early headshots on busy routes, then deliberately switch to longer lanes once Carbon Fiber becomes available.
Camo tipPre-aim the exit of a close lane and fire a short opening burst before committing to a longer spray.
Compared withThe M27 is steadier and more deliberate; the Type 25 applies pressure with a faster rhythm and more demanding ammunition control.
