How do you unlock the FHJ-18 AA?

The FHJ-18 AA unlocks at Level 4 in Call of Duty: Black Ops II. It is a lock-on-only launcher dedicated to enemy aircraft and controllable scorestreaks. Its camo path is support-focused and cannot be completed by ordinary free-fired infantry kills. Reaching a weapon's level makes it available, but purchasing it in Create-a-Class costs one Unlock Token. A token is earned at each level-up. Its camo track finishes at Skulls (SMAW: destroy 1 Dragonfire · FHJ-18 AA: destroy 1 AGR · RPG: earn 1 Triple Kill medal). Complete every camo challenge on it and Gold unlocks. Reviewed July 27, 2026. Game identity, Pick 10, weapon leveling and the Peacekeeper's post-launch status were checked against Activision material. Current PlayStation availability and the 25-pack bundle were checked against PlayStation Store listings. Class and weapon-specific camouflage requirements were cross-checked against recorded in-game challenge wording. Base multiplayer capacities and weapon identifications were checked against a dedicated BO2 stat reference and IMFDB, with fictional or uncertain designs labeled as such. Crossbow mechanics and legacy camo access were separately checked against historical references and the current Steam Digital Deluxe listing. Setup advice and weapon comparisons are editorial and avoid unsupported damage or time-to-kill claims.

How does the FHJ-18 AA play in Black Ops 2?

Also written asFHJ-18, FHJ 18 AA
RoleLock-on anti-scorestreak launcher
Real-world basisFictional future anti-air launcher resembling the FIM-92 Stinger
StrengthsPurpose-built lock-on guidance makes it the dedicated anti-streak secondary; Destroying enemy support can protect the entire team while advancing camos
TradeoffsIt cannot free-fire at an unmarked infantry target; Late challenges depend on specific player-controlled streaks and an AGR appearing
Setup notesThe FHJ-18 AA has no attachment track; build the class around safe lock time and anti-scorestreak survival; Carry a primary that can protect the exposed sky-facing position
Challenge noteDestroy aircraft through the 100-aircraft ladder, then destroy 10 aircraft quickly after they enter the airspace, destroy 5 aircraft in one match, destroy 2 aircraft back-to-back, destroy 10 player-controlled scorestreaks and destroy an AGR. Complete all challenges for Gold.
Progression tipSave the class for lobbies producing aircraft; player-controlled streaks and the AGR are separate requirements, not generic aircraft totals.
Camo tipBegin locking from cover as the streak enters, then step out only long enough to clear the launch path.
Compared withThe SMAW can free-fire and lock on; the FHJ-18 AA sacrifices ground flexibility for a dedicated guided-support role.

FHJ-18 AA — common questions

What level does the FHJ-18 AA unlock at in Black Ops 2?

The FHJ-18 AA unlocks at Level 4 in Call of Duty: Black Ops II multiplayer. Reaching a weapon's level makes it available, but purchasing it in Create-a-Class costs one Unlock Token. A token is earned at each level-up. The level cap is 55, and prestige is up to 10, followed by Prestige Master at Level 55.

How do you unlock camos on the FHJ-18 AA?

Camo progress is per-weapon. Black Ops II camo progress is tracked separately on every weapon. The first nine finishes run from DEVGRU through Kryptek: Typhon, followed by Carbon Fiber, Cherry Blossom, Art of War, Ronin and Skulls before per-weapon Gold and class-based Diamond. Assault rifles, SMGs, LMGs and pistols begin with headshots. Snipers use One Shot, One Kill medals; shotguns use one-hit kills; launchers and Specials have weapon-specific ladders. Every camo page lists the exceptions. On the FHJ-18 AA the final tier is Skulls — SMAW: destroy 1 Dragonfire · FHJ-18 AA: destroy 1 AGR · RPG: earn 1 Triple Kill medal. After that, Gold needs every camo challenge on the weapon done, and Diamond needs Gold on the full class.
