How do you unlock the Ohm?

The Ohm is a post-launch weapon delivered through the Ascendance DLC in Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare and fills the switchable LMG and shotgun energy hybrid role. A mode switch changes it between longer-lane LMG behavior and a close shotgun configuration. Its camo track finishes at Gold (200 kills with no attachments). Complete every camo challenge on it and Diamond unlocks. Its Diamond is not required for Royalty; Royalty appears on it once every camo-eligible launch weapon required in its category is complete.

Reviewed July 28, 2026. Release identity, modes, Exo movement, Pick 13, DLC and M1 Irons access were checked against Activision sources. The final roster, launch access gates and post-patch class challenge matrix were reconciled against dedicated historical references and individual camouflage records. Weapon advice is editorial; unsupported damage and magazine statistics are intentionally omitted.

How does the Ohm play in Advanced Warfare?

RoleSwitchable lmg and shotgun energy hybrid
Real-world basisA fictional or substantially redesigned Advanced Warfare heavy weapon; no exact production counterpart is asserted
StrengthsA mode switch changes it between longer-lane LMG behavior and a close shotgun configuration; The Ohm has a defined switchable LMG and shotgun energy hybrid purpose instead of being treated as interchangeable class filler
TradeoffsThe wrong mode at the doorway or lane entrance costs time that cannot be recovered after contact; The Ohm still depends on route choice and first-shot discipline in Advanced Warfare's fast Exo-movement fights
Build and setup guidanceBuild around sustained control and visibility; the class is strongest when the firing lane is planned first; A handling choice can make rotations safer, while a control choice better serves a held objective angle
Challenge noteThe Ohm uses the heavy post-patch challenge profile. Gold is a separate final challenge, then Diamond requires every camouflage challenge on this weapon. Personalization camos and Sentinel do not count.
Progression tipCamo progress is stored on the Ohm. It can earn its own camos and Diamond, but its Diamond is not required for Royalty. Royalty becomes available on it once the required launch weapons in its category are complete.
Camo tipRead the next space before leaving cover and switch modes before the opponent appears.
Compared withThe Ripper in Ghosts is another transformable concept; within Advanced Warfare the Ohm is the only heavy weapon that toggles into a shotgun role.

Ohm — common questions

How do you unlock the Ohm in Advanced Warfare?

The Ohm comes with the Ascendance DLC in Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare — no level requirement or Unlock Token. Post-launch paid DLC weapon distributed through Ascendance DLC across the original platform generation. The level cap is 50, and prestige is 15 original Prestige levels followed by 15 Master Prestige ranks, ending at Grand Master Prestige.

How do you unlock camos on the Ohm?

Camo progress is per-weapon. Advanced Warfare has fourteen regular challenge camos followed by a separate Gold challenge on each eligible weapon. The post-patch totals vary by class and, within Specials, by MDL, Crossbow and M1 Irons. Complete every weapon challenge including Gold for Diamond; earn Diamond on the required base weapons in a category for Royalty. Heavy Shield has no camo track. M1 Irons has its own final challenge profile, and the twelve later Supply Drop weapons were released only on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC. On the Ohm the final tier is Gold — 200 kills with no attachments. After that, Diamond needs every camo challenge on the weapon done. This post-launch weapon's Diamond is not required for Royalty; Royalty appears on it after every camo-eligible launch weapon required in its category is complete.
