How does the ASM1 play in Advanced Warfare?

RoleSustained-fire smg with changing handling
Real-world basisA futuristic weapon whose visual language recalls early submachine-gun designs; no exact production counterpart is asserted
StrengthsLonger trigger holds become more accurate while the firing rate slows; The ASM1 has a defined sustained-fire SMG with changing handling purpose instead of being treated as interchangeable class filler
TradeoffsThe changing cadence means the weapon does not feel identical at the start and end of a sustained burst; The ASM1 still depends on route choice and first-shot discipline in Advanced Warfare's fast Exo-movement fights
Build and setup guidanceBuild for fast entries and readable close-range sights before trying to stretch the weapon across rifle lanes; A mobility or control choice is more useful when it supports the exact flank you plan to run
Challenge noteThe ASM1 uses the smg post-patch challenge profile. Gold is a separate final challenge, then Diamond requires every camouflage challenge on this weapon. Personalization camos and Sentinel do not count.
Progression tipCamo progress is stored on the ASM1. Its Diamond completion counts toward Royalty because it is a camo-eligible launch weapon.
Camo tipBegin close fights decisively, then keep tracking as the slower, steadier phase takes over.
Compared withThe BAL-27 accelerates under sustained fire; the ASM1 moves in the opposite direction by slowing and tightening.
