How Vanguard camos unlock

Eligible firearms use ten ten-camo categories in Multiplayer and ten ten-camo categories in Zombies. Launchers and melee weapons use class-specific reduced challenge sets. Gold or Golden Viper completes a weapon; Diamond or Plague Diamond completes a class; Atomic or Dark Aether completes the mode-wide class route. Progress is tracked separately on each weapon and separately between Multiplayer and Zombies. Checked and current — September 2026.

The final three Multiplayer camo categories use weapon-specific attachment combinations. Check the active in-game panel for the exact build rather than applying one weapon's setup to another.

Historical team-pack, seasonal, event and viewership finishes; original availability is stated on every page. The 26 historical CDL, Ranked Play, event and viewership tiles do not count toward weapon mastery.

Multiplayer mastery

Gold — complete every applicable Multiplayer camo challenge on the weapon. Diamond — unlock Gold on the required class quota: 7 assault rifles, 6 SMGs, 4 shotguns, 4 LMGs, 3 marksman rifles, 3 sniper rifles, 5 handguns, 4 launchers and 2 melee weapons. Atomic — unlock Diamond for every Multiplayer weapon class. Golden Viper — complete every applicable Zombies camo challenge on the weapon. Plague Diamond — unlock Golden Viper on the required number of weapons in the class. Dark Aether — unlock Plague Diamond for every Zombies weapon class.

Zombies progression and mastery

The Zombies ladder is separate from Multiplayer: 100 progression camos lead to Golden Viper, Plague Diamond and Dark Aether.

The base Military Rank route runs through Level 55; seasonal Prestige progression follows it and is distinct from weapon level and camo challenge progress.

Vanguard released on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC. Online progression and entitlement access can depend on platform services.
